Matilda and Belinda

We started sponsoring Matilda and Belinda in November 2008. Matilda is the mother of Belinda, a 5 month old infant, they live in Nkunya. Edem first noticed Matilda on one of his trips to Nkunya. He stopped to talk to Matilda because he could see that she was very ill. She told Edem that she was sick, and that her new born baby was not growing. Because of growth concerns and other issues associated with breast milk, we started providing Matilda with babyís formula to give to Belinda. When we first started sponsoring the mother and daughter we were not sure if Belinda was going to make it, now however Belinda is growing fat and reaching her normal developmental mile stones. We also sponsor the rest of Belindaís siblings, her 3 older brothers and 1 older sister. We support then by providing food, paying for their education as well as health care and medication for the family.
